Amsterdam Pride Run - sunday July 21, 2024 Experience the most vibrant and colorful running event in Amsterdam! On the afternoon of Sunday, July 21, we will celebrate the 25th edition of the Amsterdam Pride Run in the beautiful Amsterdam East. This fantastic event is a radiant part of the Queer & Pride Amsterdam activities. This year, we are not only celebrating the Pride Run but also the 25th anniversary of Rainbow Athletics Amsterdam (formerly Dutch Gay & Lesbian Athletics). We promise a day filled with fun, togetherness, and inclusivity. In addition to the iconic run, we are organizing various athletic events on Sunday morning for the first time in collaboration with Athletics Club 1923. Rainbow Athletics Amsterdam invites everyone who embraces the values of equality, anti-discrimination, and international solidarity. The Pride Run stands for diversity and inclusivity in all its forms and colors, both within and outside the LGBTQIAP+ community. Rainbow Pride Run Distances Choose from 5 km, 10 km, or 15 km running. For the 15 km, registration is possible if you can complete it within 1 hour and 30 minutes! Walkers are also welcome on a special 5 km walking route. Bring family and friends to this colorful festivity. The top three in each category will win a prize, provided there are at least three participants per category. The start begins with the 15 km at 3:00 PM. The club championship of Rainbow Athletics Amsterdam will also take place that day. Course and Location The run takes you through the picturesque Flevopark and along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. The start and finish are at the cozy Café Restaurant Polder, Science Park 201, 1098 XH Amsterdam, where runners pass by every 5 km. So, if you want to showcase inclusivity as a company, you are certainly welcome. The award ceremony will be a lavish party with a DJ and a BBQ, starting at 5:00 PM. Wear your most colorful outfit, as the most colorful runner will win the coveted Rainbow Pride Run trophy. Please sign up for the BBQ in advance. Become a Volunteer We need many volunteers to ensure the Amsterdam Pride Run runs smoothly. From directing to cheering, at the registration desk, decorating the start and finish area, and handing out medals – there is plenty to do, and it is especially fun and enjoyable. Together, we will make it an unforgettable celebration to mark the 25th anniversary.
